Traditional music at panigyria played by the group "Zevkalides"

During the last four years I had the chance to attend many feasts (panigyria) on Ikaria island. In 2016 and 2017,  I often met Nikos Fakaros and his group Musicaroi and heard them playing many times there.

In 2018, several times I came across the group "Zevkalides", with Giorgos Stroupas ("O Stroupa") on violin and bouzouki. Here are some videos I recorded, the following two are taken at the remote and special Exo Plagia panigyri on July 15th:








The following two videos I took during the large panigyri at the site of the chapel Profitis Ilias in the Raches area close to Christos on July 20th.

Ikarian Dreamscapes 2017. A preview (5:03 min long) on the documentation of an adventurous journey through manifold exciting landscapes and fascinating soundscapes of the greek island of Ikaria. From the beautiful beaches on the coasts to the windy plateaus with bizarre rock formations high in the mountains.
